AItrainr. Privacy Policy

The short version: AItrainr keeps your workouts, bodyweight, check-ins, and settings on your phone. The only thing that leaves your device is a message you send to the Personal Trainer, which goes to our server and to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate a reply. There's no account, and we don't track you, show ads, or sell your data.

What the app stores on your device

AItrainr is local-first. The following is kept only on your phone, in the app's local database, and is never uploaded to us:

Workouts and logged sets (weight, reps, RPE, form notes)
Bodyweight entries
Daily check-ins (sleep, soreness, energy, nutrition, and similar)
Your previous Personal Trainer messages
App preferences (theme, reminder time)

Deleting the app removes this data from your device.

The Personal Trainer (AI chat)

When you send a message to the Personal Trainer, the app sends that message — plus a short summary of your recent training built from the on-device data above (recent workouts, bodyweight trend, and check-ins) — to our backend, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate a response.

Our backend is stateless — it does not store your messages or training data after generating a reply.
Anthropic processes the content to produce the response and, per its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models.
As with any AI service, avoid sharing sensitive personal information in the chat.

What we don't do

No account or sign-up — we don't collect your name, email, or contacts.
No analytics, usage tracking, advertising, or third-party trackers.
We never sell or rent your data.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device. We don't send notifications from a server.

Children

AItrainr is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
